Breasts and the naked truth!

Breasts are big business in America today. Remember when we were kids and the only glimpse of breasts we saw was in the Sears Catalogue, or if your parents were really progressive, National Geographic? Today, the Victoria's Secret catalog has a larger circulation than Playboy Magazine. Plastic surgeons advertise on TV and offer financing. Implant makers advertise in major women's magazines. I even know of a club that is offering a set of implants "any size, any shape" as the first prize in a dance contest.

Red-handed

Breasts are also newsmakers here in the US. I read an item on CNN online a few weeks back about Nike's new sports bra campaign. Nike discovered in its market research that some women are uncomfortable with frontal nudity, even if it is in a women's magazine, touting a woman's product. So, to be sensitive to their market, Nike decided to go two ways. One approach, as seen in Glamour magazine, is a two-page spread of a topless woman. Her arms demurely cover her nipples and most of her breasts so as not to offend their audience. I found it interesting that the sight of nipples might upset Glamour readers, yet this same audience has obviously no problem with the article titled "102 Sex You Up Secrets" advertised on the cover.

The other approach, as seen in Marie Claire (US version), had the same two-page spread, different model, but instead of shy arms obscuring the view, we see the entire body from the navel to the shoulders. I guess Nike found that some women aren't really bothered by the sight of something they already have. I found it interesting that Marie Claire had nipples showing but only "10 Sex Secrets You Are Entitled To Know" advertised on the cover. Go figure.

I think I can safely say that an appreciation for the breast is something all bisexuals have in common. I personally like them all; big, small, dark nipples, light nipples, natural, augmented, I don't really have a preference. As long as they are attached to a woman I care about, they are perfect in my eyes. No offense guys, yours are great, they just aren't the same.

But why is that? Gorgeous men walk around all the time with no shirt, but heaven forbid a woman exposes a nipple in other than a maternal venue, and it's the demise of American Society. The Europeans take a broader view. A French woman can sit at a beachside cafe in nothing but a thong; wipe vinaigrette off her breasts and the only people that would notice are the American tourists.

A construction worker in Oregon tried to go topless like everyone else. Not uncommon. OK, it was a she and she was transgendered. OK, a little less common. She climbed a 100-foot electrical tower. That's her job. She took her shirt off, started waving it around. Then she took a swig out of a bottle she carried with her and started a firebreathing act. Now I'll bet that would have made the news even in France.
